Bellies

I'm still meeting some of the local Lunenburg families.  I feel that I really lucked out moving here.  We randomly picked a rental house when we moved out here because it was close to my husband's work and it had a decent school system (just in case).  We hadn't planned on actually buying a house here, but we did.  And, I am so happy we did.

This past weekend I tried my hand at maternity photography.  I searched through Pinterest. Googled 'how to do maternity photos'.  I thought I was so prepared.  Boy was I wrong!  It's so much easier to photograph a person's face.  But to capture a belly... that's something entirely different.  I found these sessions to be more difficult than I had anticipated.  But, I powered through them and came up with some pretty awesome photos (at least I think).  At the end of the day, I did my best and gave it my all.  I had fun and met two beautiful women.

Below is one of the ladies I worked with.  We met at a local puppet theater (there is a garden in the back that is TO DIE FOR! - if you haven't been there, check it out!).  I came prepared with a blanket and ABC blocks, but forgot the bug spray!  Can't believe I did that!  But, Mom-to-be was super patient and an absolute pleasure to work with.

She had never seen these hearts before.  And her hands were PERFECT for it!

This felt like such a private moment.  A beautiful woman cherishing her beautiful bump.

 How lucky was I!?!

What I loved most about this woman was the fact that she wanted to celebrate her baby bump.  She mentioned that this will be her last baby and that she wanted to remember it.  The miracle of having a child is something that is beyond special.  I'm honored to have been able to capture her moment.  I hope I get the chance to capture other's.  Until next time, namaste.
